White Truffle Workshop

Experience the delicious autumn produce and things made by wonderful artisans (bread, salame, cheese and wine), with a focus on the season’s specialty in San Miniato — white truffles — in this small, highly curated workshop. We start in the mornings, visiting the market, the local butcher, breadmaker or cheesemaker or going on a hunt for precious white truffles. We will cook together, taste wine together, you'll don an apron and get your hands dirty, learning about local traditions on the way. We eat and drink together, tasting wines chosen by Marco. We spend a day at the annual White Truffle Festival, navigating all the food stands (and plenty of tastings). Afterwards, in the afternoon, you are free to go and explore or rest and perhaps sample one of the fantastic restaurants in town. The seasonal workshops run from 10am-4pm over 4 and a half days.

Watercolour Class & Farmers Market Lunch with Molly Reeder

Spend the day with cookbook author Emiko Davies and artist Molly Reeder in San Miniato, Tuscany in this intimate watercolour painting class.

We start by visiting the Slow Food Farmer’s Market in San Miniato and a stroll through the countryside for a bit of foraging to pick up some produce and plants to inspire your paintings. After a coffee break with some local artisanal pastries, Molly will take you through the steps to creating your own watercolour painting. All the materials will be provided, including a beautiful handmade ceramic paint palette, a little gift for you to take home.

Emiko will keep you fed with a seasonal lunch prepared with local ingredients and paired with natural wines.

Molly Reeder is an artist specializing in botanical, plant & food story. She paints large scale detailed watercolors of edible & plant-based subjects, highlighting their unique beauty and innate healing. She is particularly inspired by the weaving threads within food and plant ancestry, and the wisdom of the natural world. Molly seeks meaningful collaborations through the lens of her artwork, where her paintings and illustrations help to support and showcase community & human rights organizations, and especially environmental/climate activism efforts.

Emiko Davies is the author of 6 cookbooks and is based in San Miniato, where she runs a cookery school and natural wine enoteca with her husband, Marco Lami.

Included in this course:

  • Visit to Slow Food market

  • Walk through the ancient Vicolo Carbonaio

  • Painting class taught by artist Molly Reeder

  • All materials, including a handmade ceramic paint palette to take home
